Conolidine is found in the bark on the tropical flowering shrub Tabernaemontana divaricata, usually called the pinwheel flower. The plant is native to southeast Asia, in which it has long been used in conventional Chinese, Ayurvedic and Thai medicines to deal with fever and soreness.
